Privacy Policy

Effective June 1, 2026

Maple is a recipe app that keeps your recipes, learns what your household cooks, and helps you decide what to make. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who we share it with. We keep it short because we collect as little as possible.

What we collect

  • Account information — the email address and name associated with the account you sign in with.
  • Your content — the recipes you save, photos you upload to import recipes, your cooking log, meal plans, and the household details you choose to add.

How we use it

  • To provide the app — store and sync your recipes, suggest dinners, plan the week, and share a recipe box with your household.
  • For AI features — when you import a recipe from a photo or a link, or ask Maple to adapt one, the relevant text or image is sent to our AI processors solely to perform that task. Your content is not used to train their models.

We do not show ads, sell your data, or use third-party advertising or tracking.

Service providers

We share data only with the providers that run the app on our behalf:

  • WorkOS — sign-in and authentication.
  • Convex — database and file storage (where your recipes and photos live).
  • Anthropic and Google — AI processing of recipe text and images.
  • Netlify — web hosting.

Household sharing

Recipes and cooking history within a household are visible to the members you invite to it. Only invite people you want to share with.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data until you delete it or ask us to close your account. You can delete your account from the Household screen while signed in. If you cannot access the app, email tnagengast@gmail.com.

Children

Maple is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit between your device and our providers.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update this page and revise the date above.
